Class Description: This is a two day class. In the first class students will be introduced to the tools and techniques used for the double stitch to create “rings,” and then to connect the rings. In the second class students will learn the next step, which is to create “chains,” and then to incorporate rings and chains, and how to finish the project. There will be a few color options available. Once you have completed your flower, you can turn it into a gift or stitch it onto a card for Mother’s day or for another special person in your life!

Kit Contents: two tatting shuttles, three balls of tatting thread and a crochet hook.

Equipment Needed: All materials are supplied; you may bring your own sewing kit if you like

Please note: This class takes place over 2 days. The first class will take place May 9 from 10am-3pm and the second class will take place on May 12 from 10am-3pm. 

About Kevin Baum

Kevin is a free-lance professional singer, performing with many Bay Area groups including Clerestory and Endersnight. He learned tatting in order to help keep the tradition alive and as a viable activity that could be done while traveling. He has been a tatter for over fifteen years now and teaches regularly at Lacis Museum of Lace and Textiles in Berkeley.

Payment: We accept PayPal and most major credit cards for class payments using the registration form below. If you would like to arrange an alternate method of payment, please email us.

Scholarship Seats: A limited number of Scholarship seats are available in most of our classes. We use an honor system on a self-identified basis for those who cannot afford the full price. If scholarship seats are offered in the class, they will be listed as one of the options under Register.

Refund Policy: Payment is due in full at the time of registration. If you need to cancel: Up until 3 days (72 hours) prior to the class, we will refund your tuition less a $25.00 processing fee. We do not offer refunds for classes cancelled with less than 3 day (72 hour) notice.  SFSNAD will make every attempt not to cancel any classes. If we need to cancel: You are entitled to either a full refund (no processing fee), or your tuition can be used for a future class of equal value within a year of the cancelled class.

Wait List: If the class is sold out, Please email us to be added to the wait list. We'll notify you right away if we have a cancellation.

Please note: on occasion it might be necessary to substitute the instructor.
