Class Description: This class is a great introduction to crewelwork. The design is based on historic Jacobean Tree of Life embroideries. You will start with a basic tree of life design and then you will get to choose from a variety of animals and insects to add to personalize your piece. You will learn the following stitches: stem, long and short, seeding, chain, detached chain, bullion knots, French knots, whipped and woven wheels, buttonhole, trellis, burden, cross stitch, raised stem band, fly, and Van Dyke stitch.

Kit Contents: fabric, needles, wool, animal/insect design templates

Equipment Needed: All materials are supplied; you may bring your own sewing kit if you like


Payment: We accept PayPal and most major credit cards for class payments using the registration form above. If you would like to arrange an alternate method of payment, please email us.

Scholarship Seats: A limited number of Scholarship seats are available in most of our classes. We use an honor system on a self-identified basis for those who cannot afford the full price. If scholarship seats are offered in the class, they will be listed as one of the options under Register.

Refund Policy: Payment is due in full at the time of registration. If you need to cancel: Up until 3 days (72 hours) prior to the class, we will refund your tuition less a $25.00 processing fee. We do not offer refunds for classes cancelled with less than 3 day (72 hour) notice.  SFSNAD will make every attempt not to cancel any classes. If we need to cancel: You are entitled to either a full refund (no processing fee), or your tuition can be used for a future class of equal value within a year of the cancelled class.

Wait List: If the class is sold out, Please email us to be added to the wait list. We'll notify you right away if we have a cancellation.

Please note: on occasion it might be necessary to substitute the instructor.
